It's been a year? Already?
October is my favorite month. It's my birthday month. It's health literacy month. It's breast cancer awareness month. And now it is my blogaversary month!

Somehow it's been a year since I started this blog. I'm not really sure how the time went so fast but it did. I haven't blogged in a while mostly due to trying my hardest to find a good work life balance. It has been a great year, complete with a new job and new opportunities. I started this blog as a way to get some experience in public health, while sharing something that I was passionate about with all of you.
It has paid off.
I got an awesome job in my field back in February. You may remember that I wrote about a new opportunity in my Walking into 2017 post. I was scared to take it, because it wasn't a pretty package. The job required me to take pay cut, spend more in travel expenses and lose my healthcare insurance. I struggled through the summer, but was offered a permanent position, which came with a raise and great benefits. It was worth it! And most recently, I secured my first speaking engagement as a health literacy consultant.
It has been a great year for me professionally and a year with a lot of personal growth. All of which I am thankful for. I hope to find the work/life balance that I have been so desperately searching for so that I can get back to posting more regularly.
Thank you for all of the support and encouragement that each of you have offered this year. Whether it was reading a post, following me on social media or speaking positive words over my life, you are greatly appreciated!
Until next time, I wish you all a great October!
